Guitar Hero sleeps with the fishes no more!

Guitar Hero

February saw what seemed to be the death of Guitar Hero after Activision took a step forward to leave the plastic guitar behind. It was very heartbreaking but after Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, what more could be done? With the amount of Downloadable Content that was available, it felt like it would have been the last in the franchise and they could just keep loading us up with DLC.

So we were wrong, Guitar Hero is back! But not just yet though. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has said that Guitar Hero will be making it’s comeback. The juice is, they’ve made a new studio to reinvent the franchise, but it’s still early days. There’s no release date or any gossip on what’s in store for us GH addicts. All we know for now is that they are currently testing out a “variety of different prototypes“.

With faith, I know when it’s back, it’ll throw Rock Band right out of the window into a ditch somewhere. My hopes are for a variety of licensed guitar controllers, characters that they get the permission to use, some really great songs (more Slipknot, Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold and Megadeath please!) and something outrageous that hasn’t been done before.

Guitar Hero is coming back baby yeah!

  1. I can’t wait! I’ll just always remember the good old days of Guitar Hero and how much they have started to fall down the food chain lately. But maybe, just maybe, they’ll be able to hit the high not they hit with Guitar Hero 2-4.
