Sequels Roundup – 2012 and the Future
As Hollywood is striving to be the best in the buisness, but lacking in original ideas, you can expect a bunch of sequels to be heading your direction as of next year, and you won’t need to sieve them out because trust me, there’s a lot. According to theranker.com, we have the following…
American Pie 4, Underworld 4: New Dawn, Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance, Wrath of the Titans (Clash of the Titans 2), Men in Black 3, Madagascar 3, Prometheus (Alien Prequel), Star Trek 2, Ice Age 4, The Dark Knight Rises, The Bourne Legacy, G.I Joe 2, Resident Evil 5, Monsters inc 2, James Bond 23, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2, Ghostbusters 3, Superman: The Man of Steel, Die Hard 5, Get Smart 2, Hitman 2, Indiana Jones 5, I Robot 2, Kick Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, Mad Max 4: Fury Road, Sin City 2, The Expendables 2, The Ring 3D, Zoolander 2, Iron Man 3, 28 Months Later, Austin Powers 4, Falling Down 2, Hancock 2, I Am Legend Prequel, Independance 2, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters, Red 2, Taken 2, Top Gun 2, Avatar 2 & 3, Blade Runner Prequel, Cloverfield 2, How to Train your Dragon 2, Kil Bill Vol. 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and Terminator 5.
Some of these titles haven’t been 100% confirmed as it’s still early days, but there’s been talk and rumours surrounding them. The most exciting title for me, which I haven’t included in the list because it’s just too awesome, is Dumb and Dumber 3!
After wrapping up The Three Stooges, Peter and Bobby Farrelly are now ready to bring the two original nut jobs back to the big screen, that is Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as the original (and no one can take that away from them) Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne. Since the first, the brothers have had a strong interest in bringing best friends Harry and Lloyd back for a new adventure. We know Carrey and Daniels are obviously up for it, after Carrey made a comment about the possible sequel while promoting Mr Popper’s Penguins… sweet! It shouldn’t even be called Dumb and Dumber 3 because it will erase any memory of Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, which obviously failed in so many ways. It was the perfect example of why certain films should be left alone and not rushed if a sequel is desired.
I wonder if Sea Bass will make an appearance? Let’s hope there won’t be any more tossing of the salt over the right shoulder again, but then again lol.
