Warner Bros. has released a brand new trailer for what is predicted to be a blockbuster hit next summer, The Dark Knight Rises. However, since the debut of the prologue ahead of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, the real buzz going around is that Tom Hardy’s character, Bane, is very hard to understand.
Reacting positively to the footage, the prologue went down a real treat according to fans, until Bane spoke. One of the most important characters to the film was inaudible. Now, when you go to the cinema to watch a film, the expectation is that everything is clear and understandable the first time. There is no rewind or volume button like the ones we have at the comfort of our own homes. So really, there is a problem. This problem has come up because Bane wears a a mask through which a drug is pumped through that gives him the super strength we all know about.
Now according to the Hollywood Reporter…
“Sources close to the movie say Warner Bros. is very aware of the sound issue. One source working on the film says he is “scared to death” about “the Bane problem.” And with good reason. The last Batman film, 2008’s The Dark Knight, grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, and the studio doesn’t want anything to tamper with Rise’s chances for success.”
It is said that Director Christopher Nolan’s plan is to tweak the sound mix a bit rather than changing the whole concept completely as he’s not the type of director who will dumb things down. Thank goodness for trailers and prologues eh! Have a good listen for yourself, I do totally agree something needs to be done.
